  • 3 egg whites
  • 2/3 c margarine
  • 2/3 c sugar
  • 2/3 c powdered sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/2 t vanilla
  • 1/2 t almond extract
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 t baking powder
  • 2 c flour
  • 2/3 c milk
In Bowl 1 beat egg whites.  In bowl 2 cream margarine.  Add sugar and powdered sugar.  Add egg yolks one at a time.  Mix in vanilla, almond extract, salt and baking powder.  Add flour and milk alternately.  Fold egg whites into the cake batter.
Bake @ 350 degrees for about 45 minutes in a greased bundt pan.  After baking let stand 15 minutes before turning cake out of pan.
Variation:  Use 12 short cake pans, bake approx 20 minutes.
Great served with fresh berries, chocolate sauce, raspberry sauce or almond sauce.
