1/4 c vegetable oil
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c milk
1 1/2 c flour
3/4 c sugar
2 t baking powder
1/2 t salt

Mix the vegetable oil, egg and milk. Add the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt, stirring just enough to moisten all ingredients and mix well. Pour into a greased 8 x 8 pan.

Choose a topping:
Topping no nuts
1/2 c brown sugar
2 T flour
2 t cinnamon
1 T margarine

Topping with 1/2 c nuts (walnuts or pecans, chopped)
1/4 c brown sugar
1 T flour
1 t cinnamon
1 T margarine

Sprinkle the batter with topping, covering completely to the edge. Bake 375 degrees about 25 minutes, cool and drizzle with icing.

Icing = powdered sugar with just enough milk to be able to drizzle.
