8 slices bacon, diced
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 cup walnut halves, toasted
1 T margarine
3 apples, diced into one-inch pieces
4 oz. goat cheese, cubed
3 cups fresh greens

2 tablespoons maple syrup
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup olive oil

Fry bacon until crisp, then drain off the fat. Add maple syrup and brown sugar to the pan, cook and stir until bacon is well coated with melted sugar. Toast walnut halves in a skillet with margarine on low heat. Combine remaining salad ingredients in a bowl. Whisk together dressing ingredients and toss with the salad. Garnish with bacon and walnuts.
